Present & Past Tenses

Tuesday
Assalamualaikum & Hello
Last Tuesday is just another ordinary day as usual. I went breakfast with Amy. We study at the library because Amy got her extra Math class. I'm honored accompanied her. That day was quite hot. I still remembered the heat and the sweat running from my forehead. I was sweating all over my body. Everybody did not agreed with the weather that day. So, everybody does what human does. Whining and complaining. I think the weather was really great. Even though it is very hot but the sky looked very beautiful. The view was amazing. The sun seems really close to the earth. No wonder it was so hot. I captured some of the beautiful sky that day. I loved adoring Allah gift to us.

At 2 p.m we continued our class with Madam Norbaiti. She gave back our test paper. I did good, I guess but the result was frustrating. I guess I have to make effort and try to be more hardworking after this. After discussing the test paper, Madam Norbaiti planned some activities as usual. That's what I loved about her. Her clever plan and activities makes us comfortable and feel so relaxed in her class. We learned very well too. So, that day she wanted to see our understanding on 'Present and Past Tenses'. She'd asked us to get in a group of three. We had to choose a figure (preferably a person we like) and list down their background or characteristic before and after in their life. I teamed up with Amy and Ain. We chose Kristen Stewart as the figure because it is so much easier to list her biography since I am a big fan of her. After that, one in each group had to read it out loud. Ain read it that day. The other group had chose Siti Nurhaliza, Albert Einstein and I can't remember the others. I think we all did great and I hoped we all get a great marks out of it.

Last week was a great week and we had a very great class with Madam Norbaiti. All of her class was fun and refreshing. I never skip her class and never wanted to. Her class had changed my whole perspective towards English class. I hoped I will have an English session like I had with Madam Norbaiti in the future. Thank you.

Tuesday
Assalamualaikum & Hello
At 8 o'clock in the morning, I went to Amy's house and we did some revision together. We finished our Math homework and our Basic Economic tutorial. Later, we had lunch at Seksyen 7. I didn't remember the restaurant's name but it was somewhere near Jakel building. I had 'Nasi Goreng' and Amy had 'Nasi Kerabu'. Both of us ordered plain water because we wanted to save some money. Haha

The best part of the 'Nasi Goreng' was the 'Keropok'. It tasted really good. So, after Zuhur prayer, We headed to BK22 where we had our class with Madam Norbaiti. Madam Norbaiti was not feeling well that day. She had a sore throat. However, she still continued the class as usual. That's what I loved about her. I loved her sincerity and determination of teaching us. That day, we learned about Thesis Statement and Topic Sentence. We learned some guideline to make a good essay. First, we have to determine the Thesis Statement of the title given. What is a Thesis Statement? Thesis Statement is usually one concise sentence, expresses the purpose or controlling idea of you essay and has several main points that can each be expended into a paragraph.
A characteristics of a strong thesis statement are a strong thesis statement takes a stand, a strong thesis statement justifies discussion, a strong thesis statement expresses one main idea and a strong thesis statement is specific. A good thesis statement also must be arguable. The best way to arrive at a thesis statement is to think carefully about your topic, take a stand and work out the best reasons you can find to justify your stand.

Before the class end, Madam told us to do an essay. Instead of writing a regular essay, we have to do an outline of the essay to see our understanding of the thesis statement. I think all of us will do a better work on writing an essay after this. Thank you.

Fiction

Assalamualaikum & Hello
Last Tuesday, we were on our regular schedule. Amy and I went for breakfast at Sidah restaurant. We had 'roti canai' and warm water as usual. At 11 o'clock, we had our Mathematics class until 1 o'clock. Then, we had 1 hour break to pray and lunch. After that, at 2 o'clock, we had our session with Madam Norbaiti. As usual, Madam prepared us some activities to do. This time we had to wrote a short story based on the character, genre and setting given by her. The character given include the runaway bride, a school nerd, a psychopath and many other choices. The setting also include at the beach, a haunted mansion, in a cab and many more. We were divided into groups of three and four. My group chose the psychopath character and the setting we chose was in a cab. We tried to do a psychopathic thriller kind of story.

It turned out I'd got the idea from a movie call 'The Lovely Bones'. It is the story of a teenage girl who, after being raped and murdered, watches from her personal heaven as her family and friends struggle to move on with their lives while she comes to terms with her own death. 'The Lovely Bones' is luminous and astonishing. This story of the worst thing a family can face is transformed into suspenful and even funny about love, memory, joy, heaven and healing. This movie was adapted from a novel by the same title written by Alice Sebold. We didn't really present about the story. We just took a bit part of the character to our kind of story. We presented it well and so was the other group. I really think this was the best session we had and I hoped we did better in the future. Thank you.
